Una
tía que dice de Donald Trump que "tiene
un desequilibrio mental, es un depredador sexual, racista, misógino,
narcisista, demagogo, atemorizante", demuestra
cordura y capacidad analítica, pero si además
es una artistaza con cinco premios Gramy a la que sigo, lo confieso,
solo desde la publicación de “The
calling” en 2007, cuando ya llevaba grabando veinte
años,
bien merece un espacio preferente.
He
elegido esta canción de su penúltimo
disco, “The
Things That We Are Made Of”, que
habla de
alguien que espera a los
voluntarios
de la guerra de España rodeada
de la
alejada serenidad
de
la vida
cotidiana. Lo que más me gusta de Mary Chapin es su capacidad
interpretativa. La voz se la dio la naturaleza, lo otro es adquirido.
